Embed Flash in WordPress.com Blog

Monday, March 14th, 2011

If anyone wonders if there’s a plugin to do this, then the answer is yes:
Kimili Flash Embed for WordPress

I’m using it on my own pages. Very simple to setup and use, provides all the necessary flash embedding options you’ll need.

wordWrap, autoSize, TextFormat.align

Monday, March 14th, 2011

I’ve been recently testing these three properties of the TextField class, the:

wordWrap
autoSize, and
align (property of the TextFormat class)

and had to make myself a visual test of how they behave together. Its a handy reference to keep close when working with these, as trying to imagine the different scenarios they create can get easier when seen alive.

Get Adobe Flash player

wordWrap
- must be used in conjunction with autoSize to yield effect

autoSize
- always tries to make input width and height dynamic (wordWrap=true keeps width fixed), so that text typed into input enlarges input to text width and height

autoSize = “none”
- keeps the input width and height fixed

autoSize = “left”
- alignes input to left from original width and height; text autoSizes from right to left and then wordWraps to next line (wordWrap=true), or continues autoSizing horizontally (wordWrap=false)

autoSize = “right”
- alignes input to right from original width and height; text autoSizes from left to right and then wordWraps to next line (wordWrap=true), or continues autoSizing horizontally (wordWrap=false)

TextFormat.align
- is only effective when wordWrap = true or autoSize=none (fixed width)

TextFormat.align = “left” aligns text inside input to left
TextFormat.align = “right” aligns text inside input to right
TextFormat.align = “center” centers text inside input

The test doesnt contain all the combinations, but the rest can be figured out easily.
